Sharing Ministry

Historically, the Thornville and Hopewell United Methodist Churches had been in a two point charge up until 1984.
The charge was broken that year and the churches have been on their own governmental and financial means. The Rev John Edwards had been serving the Hopewell church for 20 years and decided to retire at the end of June 2020. The Foothills District made the decision to bring the two churches back together. This time, the churches entered into a “Sharing Ministry” as they shared time with Pastor Jeremy Shank who had been serving the Thornville church since July 2012. Now, as we enter July of 2022, the churches welcome Pastor Victoria Burgoon who will take over behind the pulpit and carry these two historic churches onward to a new future.
